The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) is accepting applications for a Journeyman Lineworker. An employee in this position will operate, construct, reconstruct, maintain and repair the electric distribution system and equipment up to 15kV overhead and underground; transmission system up to 138kV throughout the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities nine (9) square mile service territory in a safe and efficient manner. This individual must be physically mobile, mechanically inclined, climb poles up to 100′ above ground and have the ability to perform outside work at any time in any weather conditions.

Training and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required;
  • Completion of an Apprenticeship Program resulting in recognition as a Journeyman status;
  • Electric utility experience preferred;
  • Must have a valid Michigan operator’s license; and
  • Must have a valid CDL license.

This is a full-time non-exempt position with hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday – Friday with an hourly starting wage of $47.43. A complete job description is available at www.coldwater.org. To apply, please submit cover letter and resume to this email address.

Are you a journeyman lineworker that is looking for a place to work where you can go home nightly? Bay City Electric Light and Power, a division of the City of Bay City, Michigan is seeking full-time Electrical Journeyman Lineworkers to immediately fill multiple openings. This specialized experienced position earns a competitive salary of $49.53 per hour. Our lineworkers are responsible for the construction, maintenance, operations and outage restoration on the utility’s distribution facilities. They operate in a safe and efficient manner, to assure our customers reliable and affordable electricity.

  • Must be a High School Graduate or obtained a GED equivalent.
  • Must be a certified Journeyman Lineman and possess a Journeyman Lineman card.
  • Must have knowledge and experience with distribution systems.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License with CDL Class B endorsement.
  • Must be readily available to respond to system outages after normal work hours.

Work Schedule
