The Marquette Board of Light and Power, a community-owned, not-for-profit Municipal Electric Utility, is seeking a highly skilled individual to lead its Finance Department. The Director of Finance is part of the senior staff management team that reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for the overall management of the utility’s finances and budget.

The qualifying candidate must have excellent communication, management, and organizational skills and be able to work in a team-oriented environment. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting for Finance from an accredited university, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Public Administration and/or a CMA designation is desirable.

The MBLP is located in Marquette, Michigan on the shores of Lake Superior and is viewed as a destination to work, live and play in a four season’s environment. The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities (CBPU) is accepting applications for an Engineering Technician. This position is responsible for supporting Coldwater design and operations, preparing and reviewing engineering and technical drawings as well as supporting the Geographic Information System (GIS) department with data collection and entry. This individual must possess outstanding technical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.

Training and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required;
  • College degree in technical related field of study and/or equivalent work experience required, Civil or Electrical Engineering preferred;
  • Project management experience preferred;
  • Experience with municipal and utility construction practices and recordkeeping a plus; and
  • A valid driver’s license.

This is a full-time non-exempt position with hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday with a wage range of $19.00 – $26.00 per hour depending on qualifications. The City of Marshall has an opening for a full time Sr. Lineworker. This position is responsible for the construction and maintenance of all overhead and underground distribution lines and services.  Responds for power outage service restoration and repairs street/parking lot lights.  Must have a Journeyman Lineworker Certification, and a valid Michigan Driver’s License with CDL class A endorsement.  Starting pay $44.37/hr. plus a full benefit package and pay increase after 6 months.

Bay City Electric Light and Power, a division of the City of Bay City, Michigan is seeking full-time Electrical Journeyman Lineworkers to immediately fill multiple openings. This specialized experienced position earns a competitive salary of $46.69 per hour. Our lineworkers are responsible for the construction, maintenance, operations and outage restoration on the utility’s distribution facilities. They operate in a safe and efficient manner, to assure our customers reliable and affordable electricity.
